Cookie Policy
Merchonic Cookie Policy
Effective Date: July 29, 2026
This policy explains how Merchonic uses cookies and similar technologies and how you can control them. Nonessential technologies are used only as permitted by applicable law and the choices available to you.
1. Scope and Relationship to Other Policies
Merchonic is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] (“Merchonic,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Cookie Policy applies to merchonic.com and any related website, application, or online service that links to it (collectively, the “Platform”).
This policy should be read with the Merchonic Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The Privacy Policy explains more broadly how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information and how privacy rights may be exercised.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small data files placed on a browser or device. They can recognize a browser or device during a visit or across visits. Cookies may be temporary session cookies or persistent cookies that remain until expiration or deletion.
We may also use local storage, software development kits, pixels, tags, web beacons, scripts, device identifiers, server logs, and similar technologies. References to “cookies” in this policy include these technologies unless the context indicates otherwise.
3. First-Party and Third-Party Technologies
First-party cookies are set by Merchonic or on our behalf. Third-party cookies are set or accessed by another company, such as an analytics provider, payment processor, fraud-prevention provider, social-login provider, advertising partner, customer-support provider, or embedded-content provider.
Third parties may process information under their own privacy notices. We identify the providers actually deployed through our Cookie Settings tool or Cookie Schedule. A provider being named in this policy does not mean that every service or cookie of that provider is enabled.
4. Cookie Categories and Purposes
| Category | Purposes | Choice or consent treatment | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operate requested services; authenticate users; secure accounts; prevent fraud; maintain sessions; remember privacy choices; support checkout and payment security. | Generally active because needed to provide a requested service, comply with law, or protect the Platform. | Session, security, load-balancing, payment-authentication, and consent-record technologies. |
| Functional | Remember optional preferences and enable optional features, such as language, display choices, accessibility preferences, chat, video, or social login. | Consent or opt-out treatment depends on the purpose and applicable law. | Preference, embedded-service, and personalization technologies. |
| Analytics and performance | Measure visits, feature use, errors, performance, and interactions so we can understand and improve the Platform. | Used only with consent where prior consent is required; otherwise subject to applicable opt-outs. | Google Analytics or comparable analytics tools, if enabled. |
| Advertising and social media | Measure campaigns, personalize advertising, limit frequency. build audiences, attribute conversions, or recognize activity across services. | Nonessential; used only after consent where required and subject to sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising opt-outs where applicable. | Advertising pixels, conversion tags, audience tools, and social-media technologies, if enabled. |
5. Legal Bases and Consent
Strictly necessary technologies may be used without optional consent when they are needed to provide a service you request, maintain security, remember privacy choices, authenticate users, prevent fraud, or operate the Platform.
Where applicable law requires prior consent, we will not place or access analytics, advertising, social-media, or other nonessential technologies until you make an affirmative choice. Continuing to browse, silence, inactivity, or a preselected option will not be treated as consent where affirmative consent is required.
Where consent is not required, we may rely on another lawful basis described in the Privacy Policy, subject to applicable rights and opt-outs. Consent choices apply to the browser or device on which they are made unless we can reliably associate them with a signed-in account.
6. Cookie Banner and Preference Center
Where required, the Platform will provide a cookie banner or preference center that permits you to accept, reject, or manage nonessential categories. Rejecting nonessential cookies will be presented in a manner reasonably as easy as accepting them where required by law.
You may change or withdraw choices through the “Cookie Settings” or “Your Privacy Choices” link in the Platform footer or another accessible location. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
Your preferences may be stored in a necessary cookie. You may need to choose again after deleting cookies, switching browsers or devices, using private browsing, or when our cookie practices materially change.
7. U.S. State Privacy Choices and Browser Signals
Depending on our practices and whether legal thresholds are met, some analytics or advertising disclosures may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” targeted advertising, or similar regulated activity under U.S. state privacy laws.
Where required, we will provide a clearly identified method such as “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” for applicable opt-outs. A cookie preference panel may not, by itself, satisfy every state-law request.
Where legally required, we will recognize qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, for the browser or device sending the signal. Additional information appears in the Privacy Policy.
8. Browser, Device, and Industry Controls
Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or receive alerts about cookies. Blocking all cookies may prevent login, account security, payment, job posting, bidding, messaging, tracking, or other Platform functions from working correctly.
You may also use device settings, provider controls, or industry opt-out tools where available. Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not standardized; we respond to legally recognized opt-out preference signals as described above.
9. Analytics and Measurement
We may use analytics services, including Google Analytics or comparable providers, to understand traffic, feature use, errors, performance, and user interactions. Analytics technologies are activated only in accordance with applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
If Google Analytics is enabled, Google may provide an additional browser opt-out tool. The live Cookie Settings tool or Cookie Schedule identifies the provider, purpose, category, and duration configured on the Platform.
10. Payments, Shipping, Login, Security, and Embedded Services
Payment processors such as Stripe may use technologies needed for payment security, fraud prevention, authentication, and transaction processing. Shipping or tracking providers such as EasyPost or ShipStation may use technologies needed to provide shipping estimates, labels, tracking, or related functions if those services are enabled.
Google, Meta, or other providers may use technologies when you choose social login, interact with embedded content, use a chat or support feature, view an embedded video, or consent to related analytics or advertising. We list only services actually deployed in the live Cookie Settings tool or Cookie Schedule.
11. Email and Communication Tracking
Emails and other electronic communications may contain pixels or tracked links that tell us whether a message was delivered, opened, or clicked and help us measure communications and protect against fraud. Where required, marketing-related tracking is used only with consent or is subject to applicable opt-outs. Disabling images or using email-client privacy controls may limit this tracking.
12. Information Collected Through These Technologies
Depending on the technology, information may include cookie or device identifiers, Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, language, approximate location derived from IP address, referring and exit pages, dates and times, pages viewed, clicks, feature use, login status, transaction or campaign identifiers, and consent choices.
The Privacy Policy explains how this information is used, disclosed, retained, secured, and linked with other information.
13. Retention
Session cookies generally expire when the browser session ends, although a login session may persist if a remember-me feature is selected. Persistent cookies remain until their stated expiration date or until deleted.
Retention varies by purpose, configuration, and provider. We retain cookie-derived information only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement. Current cookie durations are shown in the live Cookie Settings tool or Cookie Schedule. We do not state a fixed duration unless it matches the deployed configuration.
14. Children
The Platform is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly use cookies to profile or target children. If we learn that a child has used the Platform contrary to the Terms of Service, we may take steps described in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
15. Security and Fraud Prevention
We may use necessary cookies and similar technologies to detect suspicious activity, secure accounts, prevent automated abuse, enforce access controls, investigate fraud, protect payments, and maintain Platform integrity. These technologies may not be disabled without disabling the related service.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, vendors, legal requirements, or Platform practices. The revised policy will display an updated effective date. When legally required or reasonably appropriate, we will provide additional notice or request renewed consent before materially different nonessential uses begin.
17. Contact
Merchonic is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], a [STATE AND ENTITY TYPE], with a mailing address at [MAILING ADDRESS]. Questions about cookies or privacy choices may be sent to [email protected] or [PRIVACY EMAIL].
